Mental Health
Mental health conditions are real, common and treatable
Many different types of mental health issues exist, the most common of which is depression.
There are also different types of depression, each with slightly different symptoms and treatment requirements. Depression may also appear concurrently with other mental health conditions
There is nothing abnormal about feeling down, but in people with depression they experience prolonged and deep feelings of sadness, despair, and hopelessness that are different from the usual outlook. One in four women and one in six men will experience depression at some point throughout their lifetime.
When you experience a negative life event or have suffered a severe loss, it's normal to feel depressed or sad for a while. However, if you continue to feel depressed or sad for more than a couple of weeks, you should visit your doctor.
